Detailed Job Description

Performs a broad scope of professional accounting activities requiring experienced, professional knowledge and application of accounting principles and practices.

Additional Department Summary:

The Accountant works collaboratively with the Business Office, Purchasing, Health IT and other on the enterprise services departments to organize, coordinate the services that fall under the financial umbrella of the College. The Accountant performs all aspects of accounting and budgeting for the College of Community Health Sciences, academic and clinical, Capstone Health Services Foundation, d/b/a University Medical Center and UMC Northport and The position also performs clinical data reporting to support the academic, clinical and scholarship enterprises and to insure the integrity of the data for revenue reporting systems, financial reporting systems and accreditation reporting systems. Responsibilities include all aspects of accounting, data reporting cash management processes.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting or Finance and at least one (1) year accounting related experience; OR a CPA and some professional accounting experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

CPA Preferred, will consider in process, proven education and experience with various database systems, mining, reporting, developing dashboards. Preference given to candidates with experience in a healthcare setting. Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic setting and an environment of constant growth and change. Ability to analyze and interpret complex data; Ability to research and prepare comprehensive reports; Ability to monitor and adhere to quality control standards; Ability to work at a rapid pace with numerous interruptions; Ability to cope with stressful conditions; Ability to demonstrate tact, versatility, and adaptability; Ability to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and directional initiative.Internships in related fields will be considered for experience requirement. 57 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 31969.56 Midpoint - $ 46342.44
