The Director for Community Education develops and coordinates community education programs, evaluates effectiveness of programs, facilitates community partnerships, provides technical assistance to both internal and external community partners, generates funding support for identified projects and programs, and establishes state and local networks that support the goals and objectives of the Center for Community-Based Partnerships. This position involves considerable travel to rural and undeveloped areas of the state of Alabama.

Additional Department Summary:

The Director of Community Education designs community education programs, evaluates effectiveness of programs, facilitates community partnerships, provides technical assistance to both campus and community stakeholders, generates external funding support for identified projects and programs, and establishes state and local networks that support the goals and objectives of the Center for Community-Based Partnerships. This position involves considerable travel to rural and underserved areas of the state of Alabama.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience; or Master's degree and 2 years of experience; or Ph.D. and some experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Skills and Knowledge:

Must have knowledge/skill to create programs within the philosophy of the Center for Community-Based Partnerships, i.e. building partnerships, gathering data on prospective program participants, grounding programs in current research and best practices. Must have knowledge of current education/learning research and connections to recognized researches. Must have research documentation and information gathering skills. Must have knowledge/ skills required for resource development including proposal writing, budgeting, staffing, and developing connections with funders. Must have knowledge/skills for successful management including defining needed positions, securing and preparing competent staff and overseeing and supporting their work. Must have interdisciplinary experience and understanding that allows for a varied approach to intransigent issues using all knowledge resources. 60 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 49878.36 Midpoint - $ 72321.60
