FULL-TIME FACULTY POSITION/RESPIRATORY CARE: Division of Health Professions, Lawrence Campus (MCCC/MTA Unit Position) Anticipated Start Date: September 2015 (Based on funding availability).
Teach classroom and laboratory and/or clinical courses in the Respiratory Care Program. Participate in curriculum development, implementation, assessment and revision using defined program outcomes. Maintain office hours and advise students. Participate in College service activities.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a respiratory therapist by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Respiratory Care. Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care, Cardiopulmonary Science, or a related discipline required. At least four (4) years' experience as a licensed respiratory therapist, of which at least two (2) years must have been spent in clinical respiratory care, and at least two (2) years in a teaching position either on the faculty of an accredited respiratory care program or providing in-service education in a respiratory care department. Demonstrated sensitivity to academically disadvantaged students. Demonstrated currency in professional discipline through clinical practice, continuing education, professional development, or scholarly activity. Previous teaching experience and demonstrated ability to teach within, and contribute positively to, a diverse, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural student population and campus environment. Knowledge of curriculum development, implementation and assessment; including evidence of competence in employing instructional methods and techniques appropriate to different student learning styles. Ability to integrate appropriate technology into teaching strategies. Demonstrated ability to work collegially as a leader and as a team member.
At least five years' experience in adult acute care. ACLS, PALS, and NRP provider certification; Instructor certification for ACLS and PALS. Demonstrated ability to incorporate use of patient simulations in laboratory and clinical learning experiences. Two years of college teaching experience. Bi-lingual (Spanish and English).
Salary: Anticipated starting salary range is $39,000.00 - $65,000.00 per academic year; complete fringe benefit package. Actual salary will be determined in accordance with classification determination of MCCC/MTA salary schedule commensurate with education and experience.
