The Department of Public Relations in the School of Communications is seeking full time term (non-tenure track) faculty member in Advertising and Integrated Communications. The department seeks a colleague with a strong commitment to innovative teaching and student success. Advertising and Integrated Communications is a new degree program integrating the skills and knowledge in advertising, public relations, design, and content creation. The position starts August 2015 and is renewable on an annual basis. This position will be a part of a reconfigured Department of Strategic Communication, which will include undergraduate degree programs in Public Relations, and Advertising and Integrated Communications and a graduate program in Public Relations.

The position requires the ability to effectively teach in the areas of Advertising and Integrated Communications at the introductory and capstone level. The ability to teach courses such as Media Systems & Planning, Branding Strategies, Principles of Advertising & Public Relations, and Integrated Campaigns is desired. Continuing professional development and contributions to the University are also expected (e.g. service, advisement, development of new or innovative programs, etc.). Scholarship and creative work is not an expectation.
A Master’s degree in communications or a related field is required. Previous teaching experience and a minimum of 5 years of significant professional experience is required. Experience in Advertising and Integrated Communications is strongly preferred.
