Quinnipiac University invites applications for the position of Research Associate/Data Quality Analyst to program questionnaire scripts and generate data reports, procure telephone sample, archive, validate and export data for the Quinnipiac University Poll, a nationally recognized survey research center specializing in election and public policy polling. Assist with day-to-day maintenance of poll hardware and software. Provide assistance for research and analysis projects.

Write browser-based survey scripts using data collection software, currently CfMC’s WebCati, on a Linux server.
Report survey data in various formats for internal and external analysis, for publication and for distribution.
Provide a variety of research information to support poll needs such as census data, exit poll information, and election results.
Assist the Director and Associate Director of the poll with special projects.
Proof read survey scripts and press releases for accuracy.
Assist the Manager of Survey Operations as required including with software, hardware, network, and phone-line issues.
This fast-moving team requires reliability and a positive attitude.
Attention to detail is a must.
Flexibility in work hours and assignments is needed in this news-driven environment with frequently changing priorities as is a proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in political science, sociology or related fields and a demonstrated interest in American politics.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel is required.
A minimum of two years’ work experience involving quantitative research methods is preferred. SPSS, STATA, SAS, HTML or CATI script writing experience is preferred, but other programming experience is acceptable.
Experience with Linux-based systems is helpful.
