The Department of Anthropology and the American Culture and English program seek a Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor with expertise in intercultural relations or cross-cultural communication, areas of specialization open, but East Asia (China) preferred, for full-time, temporary position.
Full time teaching load to teach introductory and upper division undergraduate courses in interdisciplinary settings. Courses will include ATH 235 “Encountering the Other,” taught to incoming international students, and ATH 301 “Intercultural Relations” taught as part of an interdisciplinary International Studies program.
PhD in anthropology by date of appointment (for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor), Master's or ABD (for appointment as Instructor); evidence of teaching excellence; expertise in intercultural relations or cross-cultural communication.
Field experiences in East Asia, experience in Intercultural Communication or Intercultural Relations, Chinese proficiency.
