Job ID: 438. Directs the day-to-day administration and management of the Recreational Sports Center, with primary responsibilities for Club Sports, Fitness, Intramural Sports, and the Outdoor Pursuit Center. Also serves as liaison to the several academic departments in which the RSC staff instructs on and off-campus academic courses.
Supervises the development and administration of all programs, services, and events offered by Club Sports, Fitness, Intramural Sports, and the Outdoor Pursuit Center;
Directs the recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, scheduling and evaluation of program administrative staff in Club Sports, Fitness, Intramural Sports, and the Outdoor Pursuit Center;
Serves as liaison to the several academic departments in which RSC staff instructs on –campus and international academic courses;
Directs the planning, development, and accountability for all strategic plans, goals and objectives, and program assessments;
Directs the development of program budgets and purchasing in Club Sports, Fitness, Intramural Sports, and the Outdoor Pursuit Center;
Reviews, evaluates, and makes recommendations on program area annual reports.
Evaluates program staff and maintains ongoing employee records pertaining to required certifications, promotions, achievements, discipline, and work performance;
Provides program administrative staff coverage for the Recreational Auxiliaries potentially including opening and closing shifts, and event coverage;
Works in partnership with the Senior Director of Facilities & Customer Service in the ongoing review and development of the risk management plans and the appropriate reporting and management of accidents, incidents, and close calls;
Works in partnership with the Senior Director of Facilities & Customer Service to review and evaluate security, maintenance, and liquidation of program facilities, vehicles, and equipment inventories;
Works in partnership with the Senior Director of Facilities & Customer Service to review all program policies and procedures, operations manuals, and promotional materials;
Represents Miami University and the Recreational Sports Center in appropriate professional organizations and attend regional and national conferences/meetings as necessary;
Completes other duties as assigned by the Executive Director for Recreation Services
Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in a recreational sport setting.
Five years of experience in supervising and development of diverse programming and events.
Experience in budget development to include revenue generation.
Master’s degree preferred and experience in a campus recreation facility.
