To assist with the efficient operation of the stadium and/or arena and to ensure the safety and well being of guests at Miami RedHawk games.

This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.        


  • Must be available for a majority of Miami ticketed athletic events (includes weeknights, weekends, and holidays). 
  • Greet and interact with all guests in an professional, appropriate welcoming and friendly manner.
  • Answer guest questions with regard to event and facility, e.g. location of particular section, restrooms, concession stand, first-aid, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations of the venue in regards to safety and security.
  • Ensure that only guests with the proper tickets/credentials are admitted in seating sections/areas of the venue.
  • Perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to: Ticket Scanning, Parking attendant, Security/Bag Checks, golf cart shuttle driver, Program sales, and general fan experience.
  • Attend all training and pre-event meetings.
  • Handle complaints, disturbances, or related problems with guests in a proactive and positive manner.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and respect toward other employees, supervisors, and guests at all times.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Event Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a high school education or GED. No experience required. 

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to work well with individuals with diverse backgrounds and to follow directions; Must demonstrate professionalism and exceptional customer service skills. Physical effort usually requires considerable walking, standing for a minimum of 4 hours, climbing stairs, and may involve lifting up to 20 pounds. Possess a valid state driver's license.

Attention to detail. Prior customer service experience. Prior experience as an usher/ticket taker/event staff person. Prior experience with security involving bag checking.    

Experience/Use with technology including but not limited to: Ticket scanners, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Mail, Kronos timekeeping software.
