Miami University's innovative Armstrong Institute for Interactive Media Studies (AIMS) is seeking a talented, qualified and enthusiastic candidate to help lead a new initiative in Cincinnati and coordinate an interdisciplinary experiential learning program across multiple locations (including Chicago and San Francisco.) AIMS is launching, in coordination with Career Services and the Entrepreneurship Program and as a part of the Ohio Means Internships and Co-Ops grant, a cross-disciplinary, semester-long program where students live, work and network with entrepreneurs, innovators and game changers in downtown Cincinnati.
This Innovation Center Program Manager will have a range of responsibilities related to advancing local industry relationships, research, teaching and service activities of the Armstrong Institute for Interactive Media Studies. These activities will specifically focus on, but are not limited to:
1. Engaging and strengthening Miami's ties to the startup community
2.. Identifying areas of mutual opportunity for the program and the startup community
3. Fostering student community development and connection to the local technology ecosystem
4. Internship identification and acquisition
5. Determining, managing and coordinating housing in Cincinnati
6. Organizing educational networking events
7. Interview students applying for the program
8. Advising students on professional development
9. Manage budget
In addition, the position may assist with other activities for AIMS.
While primarily focused on the Cincinnati Innovation Center, as a member of the staff of AIMS, the Cincinnati Innovation Center Program Manager will be responsible for other tasks provided by the Director and Assistant Director of AIMS and The Career Services Office and in support of the missions and tactical goals of the Institute and the University.
Regular travel between Cincinnati and Oxford.
The following are required qualifications for this position: bachelor's degree, excellent written and oral presentation skills, willingness to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends, ability to adapt within entrepreneurial start-up environment and a willingness to operate primarily between Cincinnati and Oxford with occasional site visits to additional program locations.
The following are desired qualifications: Experience with and understanding of the unique needs of entrepreneurs, experience and understanding of interactive media and social media marketing (as demonstrated by coursework or professional experience). Experience coordinating events would be beneficial.
