The Corporate Development and Engagement Director is responsible for managing sales and corporate engagement for a department and/or college.
Additional Department Summary:
Culverhouse Sales Program Director of Corporate Engagement position holder will have direct oversight and responsibility for the corporate engagement (i.e., corporate development and management) side of the Culverhouse Sales Program at The University of Alabama and would report to the Managing Director of the Culverhouse Sales Program. Individual will be responsible for managing and growing existing accounts beyond their current level of partnering in terms of such things as dollars, projects, on-campus visits, internships, and jobs and also acquiring new corporate partners. Responsibilities also include ongoing corporate engagement activities including (a) showcases, (b) career fairs, (c) internships, (d) mentoring events, (e) planning and executing board meetings, and (f) aiding in the sale and execution of at least 4 corporate sales training sessions per year. This position will have direct management responsibility for a working student staff of over 25 people and growing. Position will interface with Department and College financial staff as well as with Culverhouse Development and Corporate Relations. Position is funded on an annual basis subject to the availability of funding.Sales is a self-sustaining unit within the Marketing Department. This position will be responsible for the entire "income" and "corporate development" aspect of the budget, along with all of the supporting activities listed above that go along with that. A key growth goal is to move from the current level of around $250,000 in ongoing corporate pledges annually to $1 million annually by 2019. In attainment of these goals the position will adhere to UA and Culverhouse Development processes and procedures and work in conjunction with Culverhouse Development Officers, Director of Alumni and Corporate relations as well as the Culverhouse Communications Director in all aspects of fund raising and marketing. Given the size, growth, and growth goals of this program, this position will also be responsible for managing a staff of student workers including MBA students and undergraduate students, with a growth expectation there of 20 percent over the next 3 years. Given the nature of student workers within the program, this position will also, therefore, be responsible for hiring, evaluating, training and development, and firing of their staff. Developmental activities on this side will be crucial, as this student staffing opportunity also represents a strong educational and training component for our best sales program students. Finally, position holder will be responsible for ongoing reporting and documenting of all activities on the corporate side. Thus, this position will provide the corporate activity and results side of the Sales Program Annual Report to the Marketing Department.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of experience, OR a Master's degree.
Business discipline or related field is preferred for both the bachelor's and master's degree. Also, experience in the educational environment including recruiting and managing corporate advisory board members, managing a student staff, coordinating with the student and curricular aspects of an academic unit, running professional board meetings, event planning, specialized training in finance or professional selling at the undergraduate or graduate level, and/or experience teaching sales at the college level as a teaching assistant and/or as an instructor is preferred. 58 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 37065.60 Midpoint - $ 53747.16
