The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the UNIVERSITY OF SAN DIEGO ( www.sandiego.edu/cas/chemistry), a Roman Catholic university, seeks a tenure-track assistant professor in biochemistry to begin in Fall 2016. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education; will contribute to chemistry and biochemistry curriculum development; will teach undergraduate level lecture and laboratory courses including biochemistry and specialized courses in the field of expertise; and is expected to establish a vigorous externally funded undergraduate research program. We encourage applicants with specializations in chemical biology, bioanalytical chemistry, nucleic acids or NMR spectroscopy, and whose work resonates with our student-centered approach to teaching and a collaborative approach to productive undergraduate research. Candidates with interdisciplinary approaches to teaching and research are encouraged to apply. The Department is housed in a modern 150,000 sq. ft. interdisciplinary science facility boasting excellent instrumentation, equipment and support staff.
