The Coordinator, InformalRecreation assists in providing educational and recreational opportunities tothe University community. Duties include recruitment and supervision of staffand/or student workers, providing student development opportunities and patronrelations. This position will hold primary responsibilities in managing patronservices and relations, managing equipment, and administrative tasks such aspayroll, budgeting and accounting.Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and at least three (3) yearsof related experience, OR a Master's degree or higher and at least one (1) yearof related experience. Knowledge of personal computers and standard softwareapplications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, database management, etc.).Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizationalskills.

Additional Department Summary:

This position provides professional managementand supervision of the University of Alabama's Student Recreation Center duringweekday, afternoon and evening hours.During evening hours, the incumbent has responsibility for all functionsrelating to the operations and maintenance of the facility including but notlimited to: patron services and relations; supervision of approximately 95part-time student assistants, and student building supervisors; scheduling offacilities; revenue accounting; risk management, issuance and maintenance ofsports and fitness equipment and sports equipment inventory; policyadministration and injury management.The incumbent is responsible for communicating problems with facilitycleanliness and appearance and mechanical systems to the Assistant Director,Facilities. The incumbent provides a respectful, supportive and healthyenvironment for University Recreation participants. The Coordinator directlysupervises the Student Recreation Center student staff and encouragesleadership opportunities to develop our students into responsiblecitizens. Through the coordination andimplementation of these duties, the Coordinator ensures the safety andwell-being of participants which creates an environment for health and fitnessimprovement. This individual must work toward the department and Universitygoals of diversity, inclusion and outreach in student selection, patronrelations, program offerings and special events.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and at least three (3) yearsof related experience, OR a Master's degree or higher and at least one (1) yearof related experience. Knowledge of personal computers and standard softwareapplications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, database management, etc.).Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizationalskills.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Willconsider graduate assistant-ship or internship experience if performed withprimary emphasis on facility operations.Valid U.S. driver'slicense required. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motorvehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 2years preferred progressive facility management experience in a campusrecreation or similar setting57 Monthly (exempt): -Minimum - $ 31969.56 Midpoint - $ 46342.44
