Job Responsibilities

Provides didactic, pre-clinical, laboratory, clinical instruction, and evaluation to the Allied Dental Programs

Serves as a liaison between College and community allied dental health agencies, professional organizations, and other network entities vital to the Allied Dental programs

Assists Program Manager with curriculum development and review, monitoring of classroom, laboratory and clinical activities, development of supplemental (Blackboard) instructional materials for student utilization, and other activities to facilitate the Allied Dental educational experience, student recruitment, and retention

Coordinates and evaluates student clinical experience

Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

Associate’s in Dental Hygiene and a minimum of five years of experience with Dental Hygiene Clinic Coordination including sterilization, radiology, quality assurance, Eaglesoft Dental Office Management Software, computer hardware troubleshooting, and procurement

Registered Dental Hygienist with current Ohio license to practice Dental Hygiene

Certification to administer local anesthesia

Demonstrated experience laterally guiding the work of others

Demonstrated experience maintaining and monitoring a business area’s budget

Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department

Possesses comprehensive knowledge of Dental theories, concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

Possesses strong organizational and time-management skills

Possesses excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to promote student success

Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently

Ability to effectively respond to requests from multiple levels of the College in various departments

Possesses comprehensive knowledge of EMS theories, concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

Demonstrated basic project management skills

Demonstrated basic proficiency with Blackboard (or equivalent program)

Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Banner (or equivalent program)

Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity

Ability to collaborate, persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects

Ability to collaborate, negotiate and resolve conflicts on major projects

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality

Ability to effectively respond to requests from multiple levels of the College in various departments

Ability to research and analyze issues and develop solutions

Works accurately with great attention to detail

Sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Allied Health
