Detailed Job Description

Responsible for the physical inventory and preparation of administrative controls of all applicable college property and assets.

District OfficeDepartment: Property Management

Essential Job Functions

1. Participates in identifying and tagging College property. Assigns identifying number and attaches identifying tags to College assets at all locations.
2. Maintains detailed inventory records and files of College property by recording descriptions of items, date of purchase, ID numbers, locations, and related information.
3. Organizes and prepares periodic inventory reports and other property evaluation reports as required and requested.
4. Submits paperwork for items lost or stolen as reported to Security for Board approval.
5. Maintains a system of reconciling records of College property with the Accounting Office.
6. Assists in the inventory, recording, and disposal of surplus property.
7. Assists in recording, reporting, and reconciling of all capitalized College property.
8. Assists in improving the process to record, evaluate, and provide information to the Custodian of College property at all levels.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Progressively responsible experience in property management, inventory control, or similar type work.
3. A demonstrated commitment to diversity.
4. Must be able to perform all of the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accomodation.

Knowledge Skills Abilities

1. Knowledge of basic accounting.
2. Ability to maintain detailed accurate records and files.
3. Ability to understand and carry out moderately complex oral and written instructions.
4. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
5. Ability to access College property at all locations.
6. Computer skills which include spreadsheet and word processing software, office software, i.e. e-mail communication.
7. Ability to work effectively in a diverse community and meet the needs of diverse student populations.
