School of Arts and Sciences

The School of Arts and Sciences is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position to serve as the director for events and programs and teach two courses per semester in the university’s general education program, University Explorations, at our main campus.

This is a twelve (12) month administrative appointment with teaching one course in the candidate’s discipline in Arts and Sciences as an overload each semester.

This position is pending final budgetary approval for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Review of candidate materials begins immediately for anticipated start date of July or August 2015. To apply, submit letter of introduction documenting successful experience; curriculum vitae/resume; three letters of recommendation (all should be professional references and at least one from a recent superior); values statement (500 words or less) and teaching philosophy (500 words or less), which highlights how your teaching and administrative philosophy and practices fit the Mission and Values of Saint Leo University; official transcripts (including WES evaluation if from an international university.

Basic Function:

Plan, organize, create, and manage campus departmental and interdepartmental events as well as events sponsored by the Faculty Council and the school.

In addition, this position will work with faculty at our education centers to increase the number of departmental events sponsored at our centers. Some evening work and travel expected.

Teach one course a semester as an overload in an Arts and Sciences discipline.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with 18 hours of graduate study and/or credentials to teach in an area of Arts and Sciences, preferably either in fine arts or sociology.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience programming/planning, organizing, creating, and managing academic events.
