Wheaton College invites applications for the Director of the Human Needs and Global Resources (HNGR) Program to begin possibly by January 1, 2013. Since its founding in 1977, the program remains a unique and innovative certificate program of coursework, field experience, and research engaging undergraduates with the realities, challenges, and contributions of the Majority/Third World. It is an integral part of new campus-wide global and diversity initiatives; applicants should have the expertise and desire to make significant contributions to these efforts. The directorship is a faculty position with rank and the possibility to become tenure track. Duties are both instructional and administrative and require collaboration with students and departments from across all academic disciplines. Previous training, teaching, and scholarship should reflect substantial engagement in an international development-related field with development experience in the Third/Majority World. A Ph.D. is required as well as a commitment to excellence in a Christian, liberal arts environment.
