Detailed Job Description

The Research Data Analyst provides analytical support for research efforts. Primary focuses include the management and manipulation of data, applied statistical analyses, interpretation of results, and assists with report generation.

Additional Department Summary:

This position will be responsible for providing analytical support for research efforts, specifically those involving extramural funding opportunities. Success in this position is contingent on the ability to properly and effectively communicate appropriate statistical design methods as well as findings from these analytical procedures. Additionally, this position will include budget management and oversight of graduate research assistants (GRA). Funding for the position will be evaluated annually.

Required Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of a masters degree in statistics/biostatistics, math or a related field and two years statistical analysis experience. Must have a strong working knowledge of relevant statistical analytic methods, relevant experience with organizing computer databases, and using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS) OR Doctoral degree in statistics, math, or closely related field.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

MBA with a concentration in business analytics will be considered.Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Skills and Knowledge:

The statistical research analyst must be able to demonstrate proficiency in data management and analysis. The analyst must also be able to effectively develop statistical models for high level analysis and strategic decision making. The analyst must be able to effectively communicate their findings through written media and through oral presentation, as needed. The analyst should be able to create and maintain a budget and have experience in supervising students. The analyst must be able to develop and implement HIPAA compliance policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred candidates have a master's degree in applied statistics/biostatistics or a master's of business administration (MBA) with a concentration in business analytics. Candidates with certification in Base SAS, with working knowledge or certification in Enterprise Guide, Enterprise Miner and/or JMP will be favored. In addition, at least five years of management experience, including but not limited to the supervision, training and mentoring of subordinates and budget/account management and review is preferred. 58 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 37065.60 Midpoint - $ 53747.16
