The Department of Art and Art History at the University of Alabama seeks to appoint two full-time instructors: one in the area of art history (Western survey) and one in the area of studio art (digital media). These are non-tenure track, multi-year positions, renewable upon contingency. Other responsibilities include service to the profession and engaging in departmental, college and university service.
MA/MFA in Art History/Studio Art; a record of successful teaching (beyond the graduate teaching assistant level) and its assessment; commitment to integrating new technologies in teaching; encouraging interactive classroom learning; and an active professional record. A minimum of one year of teaching relevant courses at the college level is required. Prior experience using Blackboard is preferred.
