Detailed Job Description

The IT Technical Specialist III performs advanced professional IT activities for a specialized, complex assignment or functional area requiring application of an advanced professional knowledge of IT principles, practices, and procedures. Requires evaluation, originality or ingenuity. May supervise and/or direct the work of project teams or other lower level staff.

Additional Department Summary:

This position will manage the planning, development, and administration of IT resource plans and budgets, ensure proper functioning of the Student Health Center's electronic health record (EHR) by supporting the system, working with the vendor on issues and implementing upgrades as necessary, and aid in the department's ability to implement and utilize information systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness. This position will monitor the activities of vendors, and consultants as needed. Must be able to interact and communicate with all level of users throughout the organization to determine and verify their technological issues and or request. Maintain detailed documentation articulating inventory status. Develops solutions that are cost-effective, efficient and focused for the practice(s) involved. Works with the EHR company to implement solutions. Facilitates the creative use of various software and hardware through re-engineering . Will assist with training of new employees through the vendor webinars and onsite training as needed.Aids in the planning, building, testing of and implementation of new software and/or enhancements to existing software. Will handle patches, or changes to the system prior to implementation and will provide appropriate documentation of system updates. Assists those affected in incorporating changes into their workflow.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree and 2 years professional IT experience, OR Masters degree in related field, OR any equivalent combination of experience, training, education and/or certification from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been obtained. Knowledge of advanced programming, networking, system, multimedia, instructional technology skills or project management methods and applications. May require intermediate or advanced level training or certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in using an electronic health record, experience with Banner 58 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 37065.60 Midpoint - $ 53747.16
