Detailed Job Description

The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing and communications plans and campaigns for a department, college, or division.

Additional Department Summary:

The position pro-actively identifies, develops, and implements strategic communication programs for specific issues, activities, services, campaigns, or projects of the Office of Information Technology; manages OIT's web and social media presence, effectively managing and positioning content; facilitates communications among University departments related to IT matters. This position will also work with the CIO to produce informational briefings and executive summaries regarding key strategic OIT initiatives for IT committees and campus leadership including annual reporting requirements. Additionally, this position assist OIT Leadership with communication efforts during any continuity of operations event, including but not limited to planned and unplanned outages, natural disasters, or other emergencies. OIT's primary audience includes faculty, staff, students, researchers, college and administrative departments, campus IT professionals, and campus leadership. When relevant, this audience can be expanded to include prospective students and parents of prospective and/or current students.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of experience; OR Master's degree and a minimum of one year of experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier.Experience/proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, particularly Photoshop and inDesign. Experience using a web content management system.

Skills and Knowledge:

Working knowledge with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field. Experience with WordPress. Project management experience. 58 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 37065.60 Midpoint - $ 53747.16
