The Physician Assistant Department at Quinnipiac University invites applications for a clinical assistant professor. This is a full-time, 12-month faculty position. Reporting directly to the Program Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for curricular aspects of the PA program. Anticipated start date is July 1, 2015.

The primary responsibilities of this position include: teaching with course coordination (at the graduate and undergraduate level), student advisement, and academic and professional service to the department, school, and university.
Additional responsibilities include: mentoring and the monitoring of student performance; active involvement in the PA department admissions process, active participation in maintaining PA program accreditation, involvement and leadership in PA program community outreach programs. Participation in interprofessional education and simulation and electronic medical record as teaching methods will also be part of the teaching role.
Qualifications for this position include graduation from an accredited physician assistant program, an earned Master’s Degree, minimum of five years current clinical practice; experience in pediatrics, geriatrics, hematology/oncology, or behavioral medicine is preferred. Current NCCPA certification and timely obtainment of physician assistant licensure in the State of Connecticut is required. Teaching as a preceptor is helpful; however, experience as a didactic instructor or faculty in graduate physician assistant education is preferred. Applicant should have knowledge and experience with interprofessional education/interdisciplinary team development and participation, including good communication skills, familiarization with simulation technology and computer based software including database, word processing, and internet.
