Quinnipiac University invites applications for the position of Payroll Manager to prepare and process payroll for more than 2000 employees in Ellucian software.

-Responsible for processing multi-frequency payrolls from source documents and time & attendance system; meeting critical deadlines while maintaining data integrity.

-Manage mechanized time and attendance system.  Duties include basic maintenance/set up and assisting Director of Payroll and Compensation in testing and updating new functionality as needed.

-Responsible for updating salary, tax and other pertinent data in payroll system.

-Assist in administering all payroll taxes and third party deductions to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all related deposits, payments and report filings.

-Responsible for compliance of payroll data as it relates to internal policies, external payroll policies and regulatory requirements, including labor contracts. 

-Must be knowledgeable of all payroll related software applications.

-Responsible for inputting and reconciliation of all payroll transactions including tax, benefits, relocation and education benefits.

-Prepare and maintain payroll reconciliation including payroll tax and year end W2's.

-Identify and resolve payroll issues as necessary.

-Recommend ongoing payroll process improvements.


Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants

-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent payroll experience of five plus years required; 

- Experience working with Payroll and Time and Attendance Systems – strong working knowledge of all aspects of Payroll including but not limited to understanding and applying knowledge as it relates to governmental regulations, FLSA, data entry, reconciliation and audit procedures, taxes and third        party payment;

-Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations;

- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills;

- Demonstrated ability to extract system data to provide clients with useful and meaningful reporting information;

- High level of attention to detail;

- Computer proficiency – minimum of intermediate level with Microsoft Excel (pivot table and v-lookup) and proficiency with Microsoft Word;

- Ability to reconcile and balance numbers;

- Aptitude to calculate figures and amounts such as totals, averages, percentiles using basic math concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience with Ellucian (Datatel) software;

-Kronos/TeleStaff time and attendance software;

-Informer reporting software.
