Detailed Job Description

The Assistant Director of Student Activities is responsible for the management of Bentley's community of 100+ student organizations. This includes the use of student development theory in the creation and maintenance of student organization policies and procedures, management of group accounts, communication with organization advisors, support of the student organization office-space in the Student Center, and day-to-day management of Bentley's student organization software. The Assistant Director is also responsible for advising the Association of Bentley Activities (ABA), the student governance organization responsible for student organization recognition and support.

The Assistant Director will be responsible for executing a number of programs that will support student organization success: bi-annual Activities Fairs, bi-annual leadership conferences, and other leadership programs that will support organization and student leader development. Additionally, they will have primary oversight of fraternity and sorority chapters for their programming and day-to-day chapter functions.

The Assistant Director will be responsible for coordinating department-wide assessment initiatives through the use of the student organization software platform. They will also manage a team of student staff hired to execute departmental marketing strategy (social media, posters, photography, etc.) that will enhance the visibility of Student Activities' programs, services and resources.

The Assistant director will be responsible for planning the annual Falcon Awards for the division of Student Affairs, a student leadership award celebration for the entire campus community.

The Assistant Director will have fiscal responsibility for over $65K for student salaries, programming and student organization resources.  

Additional Description of Duties:

Establish and maintain policies and procedures for all 100+ recognized student organizations.

Day-to-day management of student organizations (email account access, ems scheduling access, etc.).

Manage the student organization software (product TBD).

Serve as an active member of the Cooperative Program Board (CPB) lead by the Associate Director, Student Center
Work closely with Associate Director, Student Activities, in the development of leadership programming for student organizations that fits within the larger leadership development program for the Department.

Supervise the student marketing team.

Serve as a Cluster advisor for 2 ABA clusters of organizations.

Manage the day-to-day needs of 8 fraternities and 3 sororities.

Coordinate the annual Falcon Awards.  

Position Qualifications

Masters Degree in Higher Education or related field required AND a minimum of 2-4 years of relatable work experience.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage
multiple projects simultaneously.

Experience in multi-cultural settings, diversity training programs, second language fluency, or coursework in multicultural perspectives is desirable.
