Saint Louis University, a Jesuit, Catholic university dedicated to teaching, research, health care, and community service is seeking applicants for a full-time trauma/critical care/general surgeon in the Department of Surgery. Saint Louis University Medical Center provides bi-state (Missouri and Illinois) adult Level I trauma services with 2400 trauma admissions per year (20 percent penetrating). Saint Louis University is host to the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine Center for Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills (C-STARS), one of only three worldwide. With a full time USAF faculty, CSTARS prepares military medical service personnel for deployment, using state of the art trauma simulation labs and supervised patient care.
We seek a BC/BE general surgeon with trauma and/or surgical critical care fellowship to join the faculty in a full-time equivalent position. Responsibilities will include participation in an accredited Level 1 Trauma program, emergency and elective General Surgery in a fully integrated service practice with a house staff that includes designated trauma mid-level providers. Responsibilities also include participation in a fully accredited ACGME General Surgery Residency and Surgical Critical Care/Trauma fellowship programs. Candidates who are board certified or board eligible in general surgery are encouraged to apply for this open-rank position. Call is approximately 1/6. Qualified candidates will show a dedication to trauma and/or critical care, excellent clinical skills with a strong commitment to research and teaching.
