Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine Outreach
The Doctor of Physical Therapy Division (DPT) at Duke University seeks to recruit a physical therapist with expertise/content knowledge in Physical Therapist musculoskeletal practice management to join our expanding faculty. This academic position provides opportunities for teaching, leadership and research. Teaching needs include musculoskeletal rehabilitation of the extremities, presently contained within the courses of PT 704 and PT 714. This individual is also expected to facilitate relationships with Duke Athletic programs, Duke sports clinical programs, sports researchers from other universities, and regional sports programs in North Carolina; incorporating DPT student participation whenever possible. A number of collaborative research opportunities are available within the DPT division and within the parent department, the Department of Orthopaedics, which houses the Duke Sports Medicine Institute.
Qualified applicants must have an earned doctoral degree, and be eligible for licensure as a physical therapist in the state of North Carolina. In addition to having a doctoral degree, applicants will be expected to have ABPTS certification as an Orthopedics or Sports Clinical Specialist. The position is a 12-month appointment with salary and rank commensurate with qualification and experience.
