Detailed Job Description

Under direct supervision of the Director of the Career Development Center, manages the day to day functions related to creating and developing employer relationships. Collaborates with employers seeking to hire students and alumni. Organizes all Career Development Center related events (career fairs, job fairs, grad school fair, etc.). Supervises assigned employees in support of activities and events related to building employer relationships. Develops and monitors employer relations budget. Responds to requests from employers seeking to recruit students and/or alumni. Develops Employer Partnership Program and monitors recruitment guidelines as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree plus three to five years of related experience, including two years of supervisory experience OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling at least seven years.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference given to applicants with a bachelor’s degree in Communications/Public Relations, Marketing, Business Management or closely related field plus five years of experience in career counseling, marketing, or a related discipline.


Knowledge of employer staffing practices, needs and recruiting methods.
Knowledge of current social, economic, and employment conditions, trends and job placement methods.
Knowledge of basic project and event management practices.
Knowledge of basic career and job search principles and techniques.
Knowledge of basic marketing principles, including creating and facilitating campaigns.
Knowledge of effective use of social media for both marketing and employer relations.


Skills in interpersonal relations, communications, leadership, and marketing.
Skill supervising other employees.
Skill with effectively communicating with a variety of constituents.


Ability to develop and maintain financial budgets.
Ability to multitask and manage priorities.
Ability to follow written and verbal procedures and instructions.
Ability to develop and present recruiting/marketing materials as well as organize and conduct career information sessions.
Ability to build professional relationships with current and potential employers.

Pay Range

$36,319 to $48,425
