This is a Category II visiting faculty position in the Social Work department.
Teaching 50%: Teaching involves activities that impart knowledge and critical thinking skills to students. It includes preparing for courses assigned, assessing student progress, conducting curricular review, curricular development, and program review, including the use of new technology, as appropriate. Advising 0-50%: Advising involves activities specifically directed to assist the student in choosing career options, choosing a degree program, successfully completing his or her degree, obtaining employment or graduate school placement, and keeping informed of College policies. Professional Development 0-50%: Professional development is a process which includes activity that brings enrichment to the faculty member and the profession and results in new material that can be presented to students, as well as new skills which benefit the College community and are related to the faculty member’s assigned responsibilities. It may include investigative work or basic research; infusion of isolated facts with meaning and perspective; making connections across disciplines; placing the specialized in broad context; making knowledge broadly accessible; the solving of problems through the use of scholarly expertise, pedagogical research, creative exploration and production; and methods for the transformation and extension of knowledge, so long as such activities enhance the faculty member’s teaching and/or the faculty member’s ability to perform his or her assigned responsibilities. Service 0-50%: Service involves contributions to the improvement of the welfare of the College at any level, and typically unpaid public service to the community or professional organizations which benefits the College.
Instructor: Master of Social Work Degree plus 2 years of related experience.
Assistant Professor: Master of Social Work Degree plus 6 years of related experience .
Associate Professor: Master of Social Work Degree plus 6 years of related experience.
Professor: Master of Social Work Degree plus 6 years of related experience.
1) Experience Designing and Teaching Online Social Work Courses Classes at the Undergraduate Level; 2) Minimum One-Year Experience Working as a Field Coordinator or Field Director in Social Work at the Undergraduate Level; 3) Proficient skills in using Access Databases; 4) At least one year of experience advising undergraduate Social Work students in areas of Professional Field Placement, academic advising, and graduate school advice; 5) Knowledge of “Council on Social Work Education” accreditation standards and experience implementing these standards into undergraduate Social Work curriculum.
