Detailed Job Description
The Program Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Success Through Education Program (STEP) staff at the Ordnance Road Correction Center (ORCC).
-High school diploma or equivalent, required
-Minimum of three years of progressively responsible secretarial or clerical experience, required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, required.
-Participation in or demonstrated a working knowledge of educational programs.
-Experience in working with computerized record keeping systems, required.
-Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
-Exercise good judgment and work with minimal supervision.
-Ability to work well under pressure with attention to details and deadlines.
-Willingness and ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the program.
-Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with students, faculty, staff, client, community representatives, government agencies, and the public in general.
-Associate Degree or higher w/secretarial experience.
-Experience in working in an education or correctional setting.
