Responsible for supporting, administering, customizing, configuring, installing, patching and ensuring adequate performance for all MSUD administrative computing databases. Supervises two to three DBAs as well as manages short-term contractors as needed.
Database Administration - manages, plans, monitors and support all Administrative Computing databases in a professional, high-availability, managed, restorable, well-performing environment. Troubleshoots, patches, upgrades, supports developers and users in the appropriate use of database resources and tools. This includes both Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) databases.
Data Integration - manages, plans, monitors, designs, builds, tests and implemented Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) software to support data migration and integration between various environments. Ensures daily ETL operations complete successfully and within the appropriate timeframe. Support data quality analysis to ensure accurate and appropriate movement of data between environments.
Data modeling/tuning - create and modify logical and physical data models as appropriate to support new/modified software and services for our users.
Project Manager - organizes projects, tracks tasks, communicates and coordinates project execution with management, developers, and users for data focused projects.
Supervisor - supervises two or three staff members to support carrying out all the above duties and responsibilities.
