Reporting to the Senior Director of Information Technology, this position is responsible for the implementation and support of RISD's ERP system and other enterprise applications. The Lead Applications Specialist provides applications support including testing, documenting, troubleshooting, refinement and installation of programs / systems in order to satisfy user requirements. The role assists the Director to lead major application implementations and participates as a member of cross-functional teams. In addition, is responsible for implementation and upgrade of ERP and enterprise applications and services; follows change management procedures in compliance with audit guidelines; and serves as a point of escalation for and provides general guidance to Applications Specialists.  

Qualifications

BS degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Five to seven years application experience plus demonstrated ability to lead large scale ERP system and service projects and to work directly with vendors.

Previous experience delivering presentations to user departments and/or management as required.

Must have experience supporting ERP systems preferably in higher education.

Must possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with wide variety of users operating at all technical skill levels.

Ability to interpret user needs to appropriate technology solutions.

Must be able to work independently and as part of ad-hoc project-based groups.
