Under the general direction of the GEAR UP counselors, collaborates with parents of students who are enrolled in the GEAR UP program Develops programs and events to inform program participants of available opportunities and services and communicates the activities/events as appropriate. Creates parent councils in order to facilitate parent involvement and assists students as they become involved with program events and activities.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration, Management, Business/Marketing, or a closely related field or an associate’s degree as described above plus two years of experience related to the Summary of Duties or any combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling four years.
Ability to travel as needed to meet with parents, deliver information, or encourage participation.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to speak English Fluently, bilingual desired.
Ability to deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to work with GEAR UP personnel and school staff at their assigned schools, colleges, or other location
