Founded by the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1948, Stonehill is a private Catholic college located just 22-miles from downtown Boston on a beautiful 384-acre campus in Easton, Massachusetts. With a student to faculty ratio of 13:1, the College engages its 2,500+ students in 80+ rigorous academic programs in the liberal arts, sciences, and pre-professional fields.

The Stonehill College Sociology and Criminology Department invites applications for a one-year visiting Assistant Professor position to begin in August 2012. The successful candidate will teach three courses a semester. In fall 2012, the instructor will teach Images and Power: Pop Culture, Introduction to Sociology, and Survey of Research Methods. In spring 2013, the three courses will be negotiated based on department needs and candidate strengths but could include Introduction to Sociology, Sociological Theories, and Qualitative Methods.
Qualifications include ABD status or a recent Ph.D. in sociology, criminology, or anthropology and a demonstrated strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching.
