The Instructional Designer works with faculty to design and develop teaching and learning environments that emphasize active learning and incorporate appropriate instructional technologies.
This position works on a team with other designers and course development specialists and reports to the Assistant Director of Instructional Design.
Provide consulting and design services to faculty in the development of effective teaching and learning strategies for online and blended learning environments including the design and development of online courses using a common pedagogical model.
Provide consulting services to faculty on course design and web course development.
Ability to produce web based content that can be incorporated into instruction.
Work collaboratively in a values-based higher education environment.
Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
Desire to work in a team environment.
Ability to work with faculty from a variety of subject areas.
Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Advanced knowledge of instructional design principles including learning theories, instructional models, motivational techniques, and instructional strategies.
