PROGRAM COORDINATOR/FULL-TIME INSTRUCTOR HUMAN SERVICES: (Human Services Programs) Division of Technology, Arts and Professional Studies. MCCC/MTA Unit Position. Anticipated Start Date: September, 2015 Positions Are Contingent On Budget Resources Being Available.
Teaching introductory to advanced courses in human services. Teaching and supervising students in off-campus practicum sites; agency site visitations; student advising; office hours; completing appropriate college services, including related instructional and non-instructional responsibilities as may be appropriate. The Coordinator serves as the academic leader of the programs and works closely with individuals and groups on and off-campus to achieve the goals of the programs. This position may also include responsibilities of program coordinator. Program Coordinator responsibilities may include: Coordination of all Human Service program curricula; review and curriculum development of the Human Services Programs based on national standards; identification and coordination of program practicum sites; outreach and recruiting of students for the programs; development and participation in the program advisory committee; supporting faculty in the programs to reach program goals; assisting in the recruitment of full-time and part-time faculty. There is a minimum three-credit workload adjustment to complete the coordinator responsibilities. In addition, this position may include program review of programs under Human Services.
Masters Degree in Human Services or degree in related disciplines such as social work, counseling, mental health, rehabilitation, or psychology required. Required additional minimum qualifications include: at least three years clinical experience working in human services, mental health, substance abuse, or mental retardation, and a license and/or certification in a related field; demonstrated ability to administer, coordinate, and supervise programs and staff; demonstrated effective interpersonal and organizational skills; prior college level teaching experience; prior experience developing and implementing curricula and experience as a practicum/internship supervisor.
Community college teaching experience. Community outreach experience. Online course development and instructional technology background. Formal academic background/training in substance abuse and clinical experience in primary substance abuse treatment settings.
Salary: Anticipated starting salary range is $42,921.00 - $65,000.00 per academic year; complete fringe benefit package. Actual salary will be determined in accordance with classification determination of MCC/MTA salary schedule commensurate with education and experience.
