Under the direction of the Associate VP – Academic Administration, coordinates policy development, review, and revisions for Academic Affairs and supports policy implementation. Collaborates with the UVU Policy Office in maintaining the currency of academic policies, supporting policy development, and facilitating the policy approval process. Works with the Attorney General’s office and University counsel to clarify legal issues related to policies. Supports Faculty Senate and Academic Affairs Council in policy changes or creation activities by communicating effectively the university policy process.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in directly related field of study or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.
Bachelor’s with three or more years in a related field or masters degree or higher with one or more years in a related field.
Knowledge of higher education and UVU policy and procedures, with primary focus on academic policies and procedures that affect faculty.
Knowledge of rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Skill in designing and editing documents and presentation materials in a variety of formats for use by others.
Skill in extracting, analyzing, transmitting, and maintaining information from a variety of sources.
Skill in proofreading and editing for grammar, spelling, syntax and style; detecting discrepancies in information or records.
Ability to apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people.
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality in regards to all incoming and outgoing correspondence and sensitive information regarding all topics.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions; read and comprehend written materials.
Ability to work independently.
