Conducts literature reviews. Collects and analyzes data. Prepares materials for submission to granting agencies. Prepares materials for UVU Human Subjects Committee review. Prepares survey interview questions. Maintains accurate records of interviews, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary. Enters the data to SPSS. Runs the data analysis. Summarizes survey. Provides ready access to all experimental data for the faculty researcher and/or supervisor. Requests or acquires equipment or supplies necessary for the project. Responds to project related email. Prepares, maintains, and updates website materials. Maintains records on assignment completion. Summarizes project results. Coordinates with the faculty researcher. Attends project meetings. Attends the Utah Travel Industry Organization Conference. Prepares progress reports for the funding agency. Prepares other articles, reports, and presentations.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent education plus one year of related experience.

Knowledge

Knowledge of Theories & Concepts in tourism industry.
Knowledge of terminology (glossary) in tourism industry.
Knowledge of tourist’s motivational factors in tourism.
Knowledge of steps in Research methodology(its procedure).
Knowledge of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS).

Skills

Skill in written communication using MS words and Power Point.
Skill in verbal communication & presentation.
Skill in interpersonal/human relation skills.
Skill in statistical analysis (data collection, data entry, data analysis).
Skill in the use of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS).

Abilities

Ability to construct the research hypothesis.
Ability to construct the survey questionnaire.
Ability to conduct the field survey.
Ability to tend to details.

Pay Range

$9.49 to $11.86 per hour
