Arranges major special events under the Division of Development & Alumni. This includes support in planning, coordinating and implementing events for fundraising, donor stewardship, alumni relations, and presidential purposes. Responsibilities include: guest/sponsor/list management, record keeping, budget reporting, vendor communications, copy writing, and other event duties. Collaborates with the Deans and Development Officers from the colleges and schools on campus for planning, implementing, and managing events related to donors and fundraising.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field and three years experience related to the Summary of Duties or a combination of education and/or experience totaling seven years.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in event management/ communications/public relations or a related discipline, plus three years of relevant event planning experience.
Knowledge of event planning and management best practices.
Knowledge of fund raising and donor stewardship procedures, techniques, and best practices.
Knowledge of marketing and public relations best practices.
Knowledge and expertise in use of English grammar, punctuation, and syntax for both written and verbal communications.
Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Office productivity software skills, which must include MS Office programs, SharePoint, online resources, web, social networking, and cloud computing applications.
Basic skills in graphic design software including Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, and Indesign.
Strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines with high quality results.
Strong technical writing and editing skills.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to pay attention to details.
Strong ability to multi-task despite multiple overlapping projects and deadlines.
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced and diverse workplace environment with rapidly shifting priorities and deadlines.
