Detailed Job Description

Manages all of the activities of the Entrepreneurship Institute. Markets the entrepreneurship events and programs. Oversees the gathering, recording, and analysis of the metrics of entrepreneurship engaged activities of UVU. Identifies and develops initiatives for entrepreneurship across the UVU campus other UVU stakeholders in building UVU’s role as catalyst for regional business and economic development. Meets regularly and works with the Entrepreneurship Steering Committee in developing academic programs to enhance the university’s ability to meet the educational needs of a dynamic business culture. This may include finding projects for classes, finding entrepreneur co-instructors to teach with the academic instructors, promote entrepreneurship programs across the campus, and develop programs specific to other schools and colleges at UVU. Seeks private funding for the Entrepreneurship Institute and its initiatives. Engages in identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gifts. Maintains involvement in organizations that will bring positive attention to UVU. Represent the University, as assigned at various community events and function.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline plus three years of staff level experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling seven years.

Preferred Qualifications

Five years’ experience teaching and working with student entrepreneurs including accelerating student-founded ventures.
Master’s degree from an accredited university is preferred or exceptional business experience.
Administrative and teaching experience at a university level preferred.

Knowledge

Knowledge of business practices and procedures.
Knowledge of rules and regulations governing business.

Skills

Skill in marketing techniques.
Skill in budgeting procedures and techniques and strong leadership.
Management and interpersonal skills.

Abilities

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Ability to work with a variety of personalities contacted in the course of the work.
Ability to supervise a full-time administrative assistant, student interns, mentors and volunteers reporting to the position.
Ability to function as a self-motivated individual.

Pay Range

$55,384 to $65,500 annually
