Under the direction of the Director of Accounting, provides accounting support for all departments, and programs under the division including: VP Office, Enrollment Management, Recruitment and Outreach, Student Life and Dean of Students, and Student Success and Retention, along with cost tracking and analysis of all campus remodeling and Division of Student Affairs projects. Prepares monthly financial statements and other reports for the division. Prepares and tracks budgets. Coordinates the work responsibilities of subordinate employees in division, tracks fixed assets, provides accurate cost tracking of various projects, provides training for division, departments, and individuals to be in compliance with best standard practices and university policies. Coordinates efforts with other University accountants.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting or a related field plus one year of experience related to the summary of duties or any combination of education and experience totaling five years.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field plus 2 years experience.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, internal auditing, internal controls, federal tax regulations, and fund accounting.
Knowledge of theories and techniques involved in analysis of data.
Knowledge of computer systems and software, including spreadsheets, word processing, graphics presentation, accounting software, and Windows operating systems.
Problem solving, decision-making, human relations, and teaching skills.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate the details and outcomes of data.
Ability to review, analyze, and prepare accurate financial reports.
