Reporting to the Chairperson of the M.A. in Counseling; Art Therapy Department, the Administrative Assistant provides daily
operational support to the department and serves as the primary point of contact.  This individual provides primary support to the Chairperson and faculty members with excellent organizational skills, verbal communication and writing skills and the ability to effectively handle multiple priorities.

  • Serves as department liaison for the Art Therapy department and the Adler community, including staff, faculty and students.
  • Answers and directs incoming calls and greets visitors  
  • Administers coordination of all aspects of staff/faculty meetings, events, and regular communication.
  • Provides primary administrative and clerical support for Chairperson and faculty.
  • Coordinates all event planning for student activities.
  • Enters MA faculty advisors into database
  • Follows up on decisions and/or instructions for the Chairperson and/or faculty to insure completion of objectives.
  • Prepares correspondence to various internal and external constituents as directed.
  • Assist with practicum administration by compiling site lists and maintain database
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-2 years prior experience in an administrative support environment
  • Professional, positive demeanor, and poise
  • Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and function both as an effective team member and autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask, as well as handle interruptions and adjustments to priorities
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Thorough understanding of word processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel), e-mail systems (Microsoft Outlook), and presentation software (PowerPoint).
  • Good command of internet usage
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
