The Position:

The Senior Front End Developer must understand key client-side web development concepts through experiences such as:

  • Interpreting graphic visual or interaction designs in HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Creating visually appealing HTML pages and user interfaces
  • Creating and maintaining responsive, mobile friendly web pages
  • Programming interaction with JavaScript and libraries such as jQuery
  • Testing cross-browser, cross-platform, and/or cross-device compatibility for inconsistencies


  • Create visually appealing web pages or interfaces
  • Create, edit or modify templates for a CMS or web development framework
  • Write clean, semantic mark up and styles for websites in html5 and css3
  • Develop interactions in CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX, and jQuery
  • Plan and maintain high-level front-end architecture of web applications
  • Ensure designs are consistent with / follow broader style guides / specifications currently being used across platforms
  • Assist back-end developers in coding and troubleshooting


Experience and Educational Background:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience building usable, powerful, and beautiful websites and integrating front-end with back-end web services 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Expert skill in user experience design: usability, design patterns and user-centered design
  • Expert-level knowledge of web standards and best practices
  • Strong Proficiency with JavaScript, MVW frameworks (e.g. AngularJS, Backbone)
  • Proficiency with Git workflow
  • Experience with client-side templating (e.g. Mustache.js) and data representation formats, including JSON and XML
  • Familiarity with css frameworks.
  • Must have Photoshop experience
  • Knowledge of the operators, variables, data types, objects, properties and methods.
  • Familiarity with control structures such as objects, functions, conditional statements, arrays, loops and expressions
  • Knowledge of the DOM HTML objects and their properties
  • Familiarity with development and debugging tools for cross-browser issues
