Detailed Job Description

Serves as Admissions Counselor and provides administrative support in the University's efforts to identify and enroll qualified students and will be an on-campus and field representative of the University of Alabama. The primary duties are to support the recruitment and admission of new students to the University. These duties may include, travel, interviewing, making presentations, promoting the University of Alabama and screening applications.

Additional Department Summary:

Position will provide after hours student support services to prospective and newly admitted students to distance degree programs. Provide initial admissions counseling to prospective students interested in pursuing distance degree programs. Cultivate prospective student inquiries and to provide concentrated student support services during a student's initial semester of enrollment in distance degree programs. Serve as a liaison between campus student support services (admissions, advisors, registrar, library services, tutoring services and financial aid). Manage inquiries made through CRM system and Academic Outreach web page inquiries. Job requires in-state and out-of state travel.

Required Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in business, public relations, marketing, communications, education, counseling or related field. A minimum of six months of experience to include student recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, communications, education, counseling, or related experience or for at least one year in college you were an active member of a student organization or in a student leadership role. To be considered student experience, it must be detailed in the employment section on the application. Valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of two years experience in a professional position in higher education is preferred. General knowledge of institutional student services such as admissions, student receivables, and financial aid. General knowledge of UA's mainframe student information system (Banner). 55 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 25833.60 Midpoint - $ 34444.80 Standard hours for this position are 11:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. Hours may vary based on departmental needs.
