FULL-TIME CLERK IV: (Student Engagement Center): (Lawrence Campus) 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday - Weekend and evening hours may be required, specifically near the start of the each semester. (AFSCME Unit position). Anticipated start date: March 2015 PENDING FUNDING
General office and clerical duties related to office area (answer phones, process reports, correspondence, filing, tracking program paperwork and requisitions). Manage office area including purchase of supplies, development and maintenance of office files. Assist with the Student Engagement Center events, including creating event flyers; maintaining student information boards; promoting of programs and special events; assisting with the implementation and setup of special events; responsible for executing the provisions in entertainment contracts; corresponding with outside vendors for maintenance and services/supplies; assisting in student elections by verifying student eligibility, preparing ballots and voter lists and running/monitoring voting sites; supervising work study students; operating and overseeing the College Photo ID system on the Lawrence campus; assisting Student Senate and student organizations with special projects; responsible for coordinating special services for Student Engagement Center offices; may be asked to represent the Student Engagement Center on College or Community Committees; assists with Student Engagement Center functions at other Northern Essex campuses. Serve as support staff for Mental Health Counselor on the Lawrence Campus with general office administration. Interact with students, faculty and staff/administration as well as the general public on a daily basis to inform and promote the goals of the Department, and deliver services. Other duties as assigned.
Two or more years of full-time or equivalent part-time clerical or similar experience in a very busy office environment required. Knowledge of higher education environment a plus. Previous work experience in higher education a plus. Professional approach to work and commitment to the delivery of quality service to students. Strong written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to produce quality work in a timely manner. Computer skills including, Word, Access, Excel, Publisher, Outlook and the ability to learn additional computer skills as needed. Knowledge of SCT Banner a plus. Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to work with numbers, gather and analyze data; ability to proofread for errors. Proven ability to work well with others. Professional, team oriented approach and positive work attitude. Associates degree preferred. Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred
Salary: $694.08 - $940.24 weekly ($36,092.16 - $48,892.48 annually) an appointment from outside the bargaining unit (AFSCME) must start at Step 1 of the range. (Step 1: $694.08)
