Detailed Job Description

Bentley University is seeking a full-time non-tenure track lecturer in law to begin September 2015. This is a position on a year to year contract. Candidates for this position should have demonstrated excellence in teaching. Candidates also should have a proven recent track record of teaching both undergraduate and graduate introductory law courses within a business program/curriculum, as well as evidence of an ability to teach ethics within such law courses. Proven ability to teach other undergraduate and/or graduate law elective courses within undergraduate business curricula and/or MBA programs will be considered favorably. The chosen candidate will teach both undergraduate and graduate law courses with a business focus. The standard teaching load is 4-4 (four courses per semester).  

Additional Description of Duties:

Lecturers are expected to engage in scholarly engagement to remain current in the field, as well as to engage in service to the University as requested by the Department Chair from time to time. In addition, at times Lecturers will be asked to participate in curriculum development.  

Position Qualifications

The candidate must have excellent academic credentials including a J.D., admission to practice in one state's jurisdiction, three years relevant work experience and teaching experience. Evidence of versatility in teaching legal topics within a business curriculum will be considered very favorably. Evidence of publications will be considered positively but is not essential.  

License(s) Required for the Position

Admission to practice by a state's Board of Bar Overseers
