Quinnipiac University invites applicants to apply for a twelve month, full-time faculty position as Director of a new Nurse Anesthesia Program in the School of Nursing. Reporting directly to the Associate Dean of the School of Nursing, the Director role is an integral part of the leadership team of the School working collaboratively with the Graduate Program Director.
Responsibilities will include developing an innovative curriculum; preparing for accreditation; hiring faculty; setting academic, clinical, and administrative policies; directing related operations and providing strong leadership for the Nurse Anesthesia program. The candidate will work collaboratively with internal and external constituencies in securing clinical partnerships and coordinating student placements to support the program.
Required Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a record of effective leadership in nurse anesthesia education, an earned doctorate, current practice experience, CRNA certification and be eligible for APRN licensure in the state of Connecticut. Experience in administering a Nurse Anesthesia program, knowledge of curricular design, prior experience with COA accreditation processes and outcomes assessment and evidence of excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required. Engagement in professional organizations and a record of scholarly achievement are highly desirable.

The School of Nursing collaborates and shares facilities with the School of Health Sciences and the newly formed Frank H. Netter, M.D. School of Medicine. Located on the beautifully landscaped grounds of the North Haven Campus of Quinnipiac, our building features state of the art technology, 24 teaching laboratories including five high fidelity simulation suites, adult /neonatal intensive care units, physical exam suites, and a full range of radiographic imaging equipment. Additional shared resources under construction include large conference spaces, a new health sciences library, two simulated operating room suites to support medical, nursing and cardiac perfusion programs and numerous standardized patient rooms and anatomy laboratories, available by 2013.
