The Academic Advisor/Recruiter is primarily responsible for the recruitment of new students and advising students of their academic progress.
Recruitment of new students
Plan and execute marketing activities on a continuous basis
Advising new and returning students
Register students in Datatel system
Maintain/update student files, including, but not limited to: Tracking graduation status; Completing or assisting with student paperwork (PUR, graduation applications, clearance, etc.); Tracking student course loads
Coordinate student field placements for Internships
Track student overloads
Work with adjunct faculty to ensure courses meet student needs
Perform other duties as assigned by the Center Director. This includes new student orientation each term; assist with telephone and written correspondence and course scheduling. NOTE: The above duties are illustrative and not exhaustive. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them form the position if the work is similar or related or a logical assignment to the position. Management may require Academic Advisor/Recruiter to perform duties other than those contained in this document.
Experience working in a higher education environment
Ability to work independently to accomplish individual and center goals
Ability to prioritize work, manage time and utilize various computer programs
Knowledge of higher education; ability to work in a team environment, ability to prioritize work, manage time and use computer programs.
Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Academic or other counseling background preferred.
Recruiting or other marketing experience preferred.
