Westshore, Corporate College West

Job Responsibilities

Works closely with Academic Dean and a variety of groups to develop and achieve academic goals

Promotes student success, embraces a cross functional approach to academic support services (including recruitment, assessment, career and transfer services); promotes effective teaching and learning through appropriate use of academic and information technology; understands academic activities in relation to support services

Works with campus and college leadership to develop, recommend and administer academic support services; provides direct management and coordination of these services

Works closely with deans and faculty to ensure program resources and services effectively support the curriculum and student learning

Works closely with College personnel on academic support matters including academic and student affairs, plant operations, bookstore, and campus police

Leads the development and deployment of transition services to students

Provides leadership for academic and academic support issues

Serves on Westshore Campus leadership team; serves on selected College and internal committees as assigned; performs other related duties as assigned

Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

Master’s degree

Minimum of three years of experience in higher education administration

Demonstrated executive experience planning, assigning, scheduling, supervising and ensuring the quality of the work of others

Demonstrated experience Forecasting, Planning, Maintaining, Preparing, and Monitoring a business area’s budget

Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department

Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

Possesses comprehensive knowledge of Higher Education theories, concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently

Broad based knowledge of existing and emerging pedagogies and academic delivery systems

Broad based knowledge of supporting student success

Ability to manage and supervise a diverse staff

Strong teaching, instructional, and presentation skills

Strong administrative and management skills

Commitment to working with cross-functional teams

Commitment to professional development and continuous learning and improvement

Possesses excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Possesses strong organizational, time-management skills, and is results-oriented

Work Schedule

Standard College business hours of operation, M-F 8:30am – 5:00pm. Occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
