Job Responsibilities

Supervises and monitors the day-to-day operations of the Gateway to College with all assigned team members

Maintains communications with the post-secondary partners at each school site, faculty members and the college administration

Plans and executes curriculum alignment activities such as parent, teacher, counselor and student workshops

Works collaboratively with College faculty and others to schedule and execute the skills testing and upgrading activities at each high school location

Plans and coordinates the college success summer academy for students from all college success center schools

Works effectively with the Campus President’s Office, Dean of Academic Affairs and Dean of Student Affairs at all campus sites for dual enrollment and the First-Year Experience for entering freshmen

Collaborates with the College Planning and Institutional Effectiveness Office to collect and report data for all aspects of this grant

Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

Master’s degree in counseling, educational administration, or related industry and/or a minimum of five years working with higher education grant funded programs

Demonstrated experience coordinating programs for a high school dropout or disadvantaged student populations

Demonstrated executive experience planning, assigning, scheduling, supervising and ensuring the quality of the work of others

Demonstrated experience forecasting, planning, maintaining, preparing, and monitoring a business area’s budget

Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department

Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

Possesses strong commitment to providing excellent customer service

Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and changing work environment requiring flexibility and teamwork

Demonstrated ability to manage relationships, create opportunities and solve problems

Ability to collaborate, negotiate and resolve conflicts on major projects

Ability to facilitate top-level collaboration while managing sensitive issues

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality

Ability to effectively utilize innovative and creative tools focused on learning and student success to present to diverse groups of high school and college students

Domenstrated experience implementing and supervisor peer-led student success/support programs in a higher education environment

Demonstrated experience managing/directing grants in a higher education environment

Demonstrated experience leading community service learning projects

Work Schedule

Most weeks will adhere to Standard College hours are 8:30AM – 5PM (M-F). Periodically will require evening and weekend work.
