Detailed Job Description

The Staff Engineer I supports engineering projects by adapting and applying engineering techniques; conducting tests and inspections; and preparing reports and calculations.

Additional Department Summary:

The position of Staff Engineer / Maintenance Mechanical provides engineering support of the University of Alabama Facilities Department. Works for the Executive Director of Maintenance Operations and Energy Management and works to support the maintenance departments, energy management department, and various other Facilities and Grounds Operations.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an engineering field.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to perform all tasks listed in the Job Duties section. Must be willing to work long and/or unusual hours to include nights and weekends depending on the schedule of campus events. Valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier. Final candidates who are not current University of Alabama employees must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering with a minimum of 2 years of experience working with facilities related equipment. 58 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 37065.60 Midpoint - $ 53747.16
