Applications are invited for a tenure-track, 9.5-month faculty position, at the rank of assistant professor, to begin in mid-August 2015.
The inaugural class of the Master of Social Work students was admitted to Quinnipiac University in August 2013, and the program is in candidacy through CSWE.
The MSW program is part of the School of Health Sciences, which offers health science programs at the undergraduate and graduate level. The graduate level degrees offered are in biomedical sciences, occupational therapy, physical therapy, health sciences, and social work. The School is located on the North Haven campus, along with schools of education, law, nursing, and medicine.

Faculty members are expected to: teach graduate level classes; advise MSW students; pursue scholarship, and engage in service to the department, school, and university.
We are particularly interested in applicants who have expertise and teaching experience in two or more of the following areas: global health, policy, inter-professional education, issues of diversity and oppression, and advanced community/organization practice.
Areas of research or practice experience should include health, aging, mental health/substance abuse, and/or child and family welfare and justice.
An active role in developing this new MSW program is expected, as it applies for full accreditation through CSWE.
Requirements include an MSW degree from a program accredited by CSWE, at least two years of post-MSW practice experience, and a doctorate in social work or a related social science field. Teaching experience at the MSW level and/or field instruction experience is preferred. Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, scholarly research, and inter-professional collaboration. Academic rank will be assistant professor (if ABD, you will be hired as an Instructor and the doctoral degree must be awarded prior to fall 2015 in order to be given the Assistant Professor rank).
